'All Killer No Filler' is an exhibition showcasing the creativity of UCLan's BA(Hons)Fashion Promotion with Styling students.

Sunday

Spotlight on: 'Style Unwrapped 2011'

As part of our course we studied a 'fashion show production' module which enabled us to gain skills working on a live fashion event entirely organised and funded by the class! We worked in collaboration with the Harris Museum and their 'Global Threads' exhibition to create a show inspired by future trends with an Eastern fashion influence.

Each member of the class had their own personal role from styling & model casting to catering & fundraising. Everyone worked well as a team, at times it was tough and things went wrong but it gave us all valuable experience on working on a live fashion show. It was a great insight into all the effort and hard work that goes into an event like this that it usually unseen by the audience.

An invite to the show.

Dancers from the street style collection.                  Gold leaf and gold headpieces.
Arabian Jewels collection.                          Gold crowns on the male models.

Caroline Alexander, Keeper of Decorative Art at the Harris Museum, stated:
“We were delighted to host this catwalk show, the Global Threads exhibition has clearly been of major inspiration. Many of our visitors have a real interest in fashion and the creativity and energy demonstrated by all the students was really impressive.”
